GripRank started at BFF Climb, a climbing gym in Singapore. We needed a better way to run competitions and couldn't find one. So we built it.
Running a bouldering comp used to mean spreadsheets, paper scorecards, frantic WhatsApp messages, and a projector connected to someone's laptop showing a Google Sheet. Results came out hours after the last climber topped out. It was stressful for organisers and frustrating for everyone else.
We looked for software that could handle the whole flow. Judging, live results, TV displays. Nothing fit. The tools that existed were either too complex, too expensive, or built for a different sport entirely.
So we started building GripRank. A platform designed from day one for climbing competitions. Simple enough that a volunteer judge can pick it up in seconds, powerful enough to run a multi-format event smoothly.
GripRank isn't a prototype. It's been battle tested at real events. Vengafest 2025 ran entirely on GripRank across 12 categories with over 400 participants. Judging, live scoring, and results, all on one platform. No spreadsheets. No chaos. Just climbing.
We currently support Boulder and Speed formats, with Lead competition support in active development. Our goal is a complete end to end platform for every climbing discipline.
GripRank wasn't designed in a vacuum. It was built by people who actually run climbing competitions, so every feature solves a real problem, not a theoretical one.
Gym WiFi can be unreliable on comp day. GripRank works offline. Judges keep scoring, and everything syncs when connectivity returns.
Live results are open to everyone. Climbers, friends, and family can follow along in real time. No app download, no account required.
Judging, scoring, leaderboards, and TV displays, all integrated. No spreadsheets, no duct taping tools together.
Whether you're planning your first competition or your fiftieth, we'd love to help.
