Getting started
Accounts, organisations, and roles
Before you build a competition, it helps to understand three things: how you sign in, what an organisation is, and who on your team can do what. This page covers all three and points you to where organisers spend most of their time.
How GripRank fits together
Two ideas do most of the work. Get these straight and the rest of the guide makes sense.

Note
Signing in
Organisers and staff sign in with a GripRank account. Judges do not — they use a passcode instead.
- 1Go to griprank.com/login and sign in with the email your account was created under.
- 2The first time you open a staff or admin page, GripRank finishes signing you in behind the scenes — if a page seems to hang on a loading screen, give it a moment or refresh once.
- 3If you manage more than one organisation, confirm you are working in the right one before you edit anything (see Organisations below).
Judges never sign in
Organisations
Every competition belongs to an organisation (org). An org is your club, gym, or event company — the container that keeps your events, staff, and data separate from everyone else's.
- 1Your account is a member of one or more orgs. Competitions you create are owned by the org you select when you create them.
- 2If you belong to several orgs, the app tracks an active org. Switch to the correct one before creating or editing a competition so it lands in the right place.
- 3Org owners and admins can invite teammates and manage who has access — see Roles below.
Note
Roles: who can do what
Access comes from two places — your platform role, and your membership in an org. In practice you only need to know a few levels.

A quick map of the pages you'll return to. Each has its own section later in this guide.
Build & score
Set up a discipline and let judges score it.
Publish & share
Create the public hub, set event info, and publish results.
Your first-time checklist
- 1Sign in at /login and confirm you can reach an organiser page without an access error.
- 2Check which organisation is active, and switch if you manage more than one.
- 3Confirm your role lets you create competitions — if not, ask your org owner to upgrade you.
- 4Read Create a competition next, then work down the recommended path on the guide home.
