Terms
Attempt / Zone / Top
Boulder scoring symbols. An attempt is any try that isn't a zone or top. A zone (Z) is reached by touching the zone hold, worth 10 points. A top (T) is controlled on the final hold, worth 25 points and automatically includes the zone. Each extra attempt after the first reduces the score by 0.1.
Category
A division athletes compete within, such as Youth D Boys or Open Women. Categories determine which routes and judging stations athletes are assigned to.
Check-in
Confirming which registered athletes actually showed up on competition day. Unchecked athletes remain registered but do not appear on the active startlist.
Competition
The private backend event where setup and scoring happen. Each competition is isolated and linked to a single hub.
Detail (boulder)
A group or heat that splits a field across judges within a route. Details ensure every athlete gets a fair number of attempts per route.
Draft
The hub state that is not yet public. Draft hubs are private and only accessible to the competition staff.
Hub
The public, shareable page linked to one competition. Athletes and spectators use the hub to view schedules, results, and live leaderboards.
Hub ID
The URL slug for a hub. It must be lowercase, 4–50 characters long, and contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
Lane (speed)
Lane A or lane B in a speed run. Each lane has its own standardized wall and timing system.
Organisation (org)
The club, gym, or company that owns competitions and members. Orgs manage billing, athlete registrations, and hub permissions.
Passcode
The per-competition code that lets judge devices into scoring pages. Judges enter this code on login to access the correct competition's judging station.
Publish / Freeze
Making hub data public or locking final standings. Publishing shares results live; freezing prevents further score edits.
Role
The access level assigned to staff accounts, such as org owner, admin, or staff. Judges do not use roles; they authenticate via passcodes.
Route / Boulder
A climb athletes attempt. In boulder disciplines, each round uses a different route, and judges record attempts, zones, and tops per route.
Round / Phase
A stage of the competition, typically qualifier, semifinal, or final. Rounds dictate which routes are used and how athletes advance.
Startlist
The ordered list of who competes, including lane and group assignments. The startlist is generated from the registered athletes and check-in status.
