Publish & share · Publishing & freezing
Control exactly what the public sees, and when
Publishing is what moves results from your private competition onto the public hub. GripRank gives you a draft state, manual and automatic publishing, and a freeze switch to lock final standings. This page explains when to use each.

Frozen
Note
Manual publish vs. auto-publish
Pick one mode for the event. Manual gives you control of every release; auto-publish keeps the public page live as judges save. You can switch between them at any time, but the trade-off is real.
Manual publish
Auto-publish
Note
Freezing final standings
Freeze is the last gate before results are official. It locks the public page at its current standings and blocks both manual and auto publishing until you unfreeze.
- 1When the chief judge signs off on results, press Freeze. The hub sets its frozen timestamp and turns auto-publish off in the same write — the public page now holds the verified standings exactly as they were.
- 2From this point on, no further updates reach the public page. If you need to correct something, you must unfreeze first.
- 3To unfreeze, press Unfreeze. This clears the frozen timestamp but does NOT re-enable auto-publish — the UI is explicit about this and so is the API. If you want live updates again, turn auto-publish back on manually.
- 4Re-freeze as soon as any correction is in. The longer the hub sits unfrozen, the more risk of a partial or out-of-date state becoming public.
Note
Important
A recommended publishing sequence
A simple end-to-end flow that works for most comps. Adapt it where your event is unusual, but the shape — draft, publish, score, freeze — is reliable.
- 1Keep the hub in Draft while you configure categories, routes, and import athletes. Nothing should be public yet.
- 2Publish startlists and the schedule before doors open so athletes can find the hub and check the day.
- 3During scoring, turn auto-publish on for live spectating, or leave it off and publish manually between rounds. Either is fine — pick what fits your event.
- 4Freeze final standings immediately after the chief judge signs off. Do not unfreeze until corrections are verified and re-applied.
